Learning through Reservations

In response to Reservations

As the weather cleared, Tommy’s resentment

the hotel didn’t allow for pets.

the trip was paid for

by the office –

for purposes of a conference,

but journey was necessary –

V and E had only seen

the neighbors and their nanny

since we’d moved.

“Will there be friends

for Mr. Bunny?” and “Can I

bring my bike?”, the questions were endless.

A day at the crèche and then we could

play in the beach (oh! I must pack sunscreen),

have burgers every night (no fries on the side) –

“It’ll be fun!”, but they remained skeptical.

They needed a journey to learn about life,

and I needed the journey to learn about their lives.
