Undulating – Roads, and Conversations.

In our evening strolls
Not to work our muscles,
but to the grocery store,
a birthday party or for school
supplies, we’d walk distances filled with
talk of politics, share market, every-
day squabbles under a canopy of stars
studding the dark-blue easel. The tar roads black, straight
were, in comparison, often unpopulated,
dimmer, and not as undulating as the galaxy
above, but always welcoming and safe. Few street dogs roamed on
the lose, and hardly any vehicles plied. It was a town of
sustenance, all necessities within five kilometers and not
a thing worth seeking for the next twenty-five. A walk through our day, our minds
– was a walk for the fulfillment of basic needs – mundane and spiritual.
